Here it is, my first post.
So it’s been another tough year for the Mariners. The club surprised us by “being in the race” for a little bit until they started coming down to earth. Well, they lost 17 games in a row.
We’ve seen more than our share of rookies this season. We saw a few players depart this team most of them for prospects.
Truth is, when I think about last season, the beginning of this season, there have been more positives than we could have ever expected. We removed a thorn on our side called Milton Bradley. Michael Pineda has been successful and shows obvious potential for further success. Dustin Ackley and others proved themselves Major League ready. Brandon League successfully filled the vacant seat of injury ridden closer David Aardsma. Tom Wilhelmsen stopped pouring beer and started pouring 96 mph fastball. Chris Ray is giving non-MLB bartenders beer to pour.
I remain positive and optimistic. Our young players have great tools to develop themselves with. We’ll see where they can take us.
